Booking information is used in the Inventory and Pack Position reports, which are sent to the customers. This package builds the booking_report2 data, which is subsequently used in the report. The table is written to improve performance, It is combining forecast information with production information to attempt to quantify how far into the "booking" we are.
To the best of my knowledge, this data is only used in the IPP reports, which are mission critical (depending on who you talk with).
