Both 508 and 408 models
Start here if you need to remove the drivers.
- Log into the computer with your admin account, do not use the current account that is open will save you time and a headache.
- If this is a network device make sure to get the IP address of the printer.
- Open Control Panel and choose “Devices and Printers” locate the printer, right click it and choose remove printer.
- Once the printer is removed click on one of the other printers (can be one of the Microsoft printers) and at the top choose “Print Server Properties”.
- On the new window choose the drivers tab, locate the printer drivers you want delete and click on it, then choose remove.
- New window pops up select “Remove driver and driver package” Click Yes, then Delete, then Delete again.
Installing Drivers
- Make sure you are logged in as an administrator as above.
- Go to P:\Information Services\Printers\sato drivers, locate the driver you need (the model number is in the name of the driver).
- Open the File and double click PrnInst.exe, this will start the driver.
- At this point only Install Printer Driver should be your only option others should be greyed out. Select Install.
- Next Option is to select Port most of the printers are USB connected, but be sure you know how the printer is connected either USB or Network.
- Choose the appropriate port and click on it.
USB Port
- First screen will be looking for the printer, turn the printer off for 5sec then turn it back on, or alternatively unplug the USB cable and plug it back in.
Network Port
- On this screen choose your IP address for the printer and continue, if you do not then click Manual at the bottom scroll to your Printer Model Number click on it and select next.
- Next window, scroll down and see if the IP address is in there and select it if it is available then Next, then click Install
- If the IP address is not available choose create a new network port at the top then Next, enter the IP address, click Next then Install.
